How to Pick that Perfect Tattoo DesignSo you have been watching one of those hot new shows on TV like Rockstar or Miami Ink, and you think to yourself: “it’s about time I go out and get myself a tattoo – I’ve been thinking of designs for awhile and now I can safely say that I know what I want to get.” A couple of days later, you head over to your local tattoo shop and suddenly, the moment you walk through their doors, you decide that your particular tattoo design was not actually what you wanted after all. It’s a good thing you didn’t get your ink done before you decided you didn’t want that particular design on your arm, chest, or back. Since a tattoo is totally permanent, you only get one shot at getting the tattoo design right – so you had better be sure you know exactly what you want. While making a poor decision about a small tattoo design on a less visible place, such as your hip, is not too bad, just imagine if you were to get a full back tattoo and have second thoughts about it later. Not only would you be out of a lot of money, but you would have some big, ugly design on your body that you didn’t really want in the first place. Having a second thought is the single most common reason that people do not get their original tattoo design inked onto their body. You want to be absolutely sure that you want a particular design before that tattoo needle even touches your skin, because once the artist begins to draw, there is no going back. Because a tattoo is permanent, you want to create a tattoo design for yourself that you can see yourself always enjoying. The number one rule is to never get anything on your body that is a passing trend – otherwise you will look like a complete idiot a few years down the road. Stick with themes, slogans and drawings that you will always enjoy or that you have a passion for – you will thank yourself down the road.
